Enzo Mari – The art of design
Turin, 29 October 2008 – 6 January 2009
On the occasion of the city of Turin’s nomination as World Design Capital 2008, GAM will dedicate an extensive anthological exhibition to the works of Enzo Mari, eminent Italian designer with an intense artistic career since the 1950s, when he stood out as a prominent figure of Programmed and Kinetic Art.
Organised in its entirety by the Enzo Mari Studio as “global project” (curatorship, arrangement and catalogue), the exhibition evolves in a chronological order that deliberately makes no distinction between Mari’s artistic production and the objects he designed for industry.

Museo delle Arti Decorative Fondazione Accorsi
Il gioiello italiano contemporaneo(Contemporary Italian jewelry: techniques and materials between art and design)
Turin, 29 October 2008 – 11 January 2009
The exhibition, which is curated by Alba Cappellieri, highlights the excellence of Italian jewels and the techniques and materials of jewelry that is made in Italy. Coral, filigree, micro-mosaics, lavastone, all bear witness to a little-known culture of goldsmith excellence.
An ideal comparison of past, present and future sheds light on the goldsmith’s vocation and the artistic traditions of the various parts of Italy in which quality and distinction are strategic elements for competing in international markets.
Over 150 designers and companies have been invited to participate; they represent the excellence of the “Italian way,” regardless of age, materials, provenance or themes of research. A total of over 400 works are presented in the exhibition.

Turin, 1 November 2008 – 6 January 2009
Artissima continues its dialogue with the various languages of contemporary art inaugurated in 2007 and in 2008 proposes Artissima Design with the exhibition “The places of art”.
The houses, studios and natural settings where art is created.
The extraordinary lens of Paolo Mussat Sartor captures artists in the places where they live and work, and revealing the intimate relationship with the setting, furnishings, objects and so on.
The artist’s home/studio is considered by many a work by the artist on a par with other works, a self-portrait, often secret, a container of experiences and emotions.
